summer wanes / so lifts the veil on the haunting August's brought me
some playlists for fall, even when it's not quite
Things remembered this summer:
It feels exactly like you remember it feeling when you step in dog poop
No season has a worse photogenic to enjoyable time ratio than summer in the Midwest. It’s the season most made for Instagram.
Popsicles: underrated and the true MVPs of summer
Humidity: not hated enough
After Labor Day all summer things (humidity, unrelenting sunshine, high temperatures above 80 degrees, having to both decide what to eat AND cook said meal while actively sweating, etc) should be banned under the law.
Which is all to say: it is not yet fall, but man, we are gonna call it. We bought Halloween stuff already, my son has his Slimer blowup unboxed, and my daughter has already picked 7 different Halloween costumes that are for sure The One. It’s time.
While I love fall much more than I love summer, I don’t have nearly the same number of playlists for it. Probably because I’m not trying to actively cope with the season, because it is not Actively Bad as its main feature. So, here we go. In order: one for this fall that’s going to be added to ongoing and is full of new tunes, one of all the hits from fall’s past, and one for the mornings, which are the best of the mornings.
Ok. That about covers it for now. I’ll be back sometime later this season, I’m sure. Probably with another playlist. Or just some standalone tunes to share. Or both. Who knows. Enjoy the descent into the best season, friends. Be well.
